The HPI Next Year Report was designed to help you identify participants who are projected to be Highly Paid Individuals (HPIs) in the upcoming plan year. Beginning with the 2025 plan year end the report is calculated when the scrub is run and is available under the Scrub reports. You can generate it in Word, PDF or CSV format; the file name is HPI Next Year Report. The report is also available for inclusion in the client package.
What’s included
- Name (Last Name, First Name)
- Age – Calculated the same way we determine catch‑up eligibility, i.e., age as of the plan year end date. Example: For an off‑calendar plan with year end 6/30/2025, a participant born 7/7/1977 is calculated as 47.
- Last Day Status
- Current Year HPI Compensation
- Projected HPI Status – Determined by comparing the projected year’s HPI limit to the participant’s Current Year HPI Compensation. If Current Year HPI Compensation is greater than the projected limit, Projected HPI Status = Yes; otherwise, No. (For example, the projected HPI limit for 2026 is $150,000.)
